Words to Live By

I recently saw famed Eat, Pray, Love Author Elizabeth (Liz) Gilbert speak on her latest book, Big Magic which is all about being creative beyond fear. She shared so many pearls of wisdom that day that really resonated with me. Two of which I wrote down so I could share them with you. You see, I’ve had this idea to start a blog and share my real stories with real people but I’ve been waiting for the “perfect” time to do it. The irony in that is that I teach and wholeheartedly believe there’s beauty in imperfection. I guess we really do teach the things we need to learn the most then – don’t we? 🙂

Anyways, back to Liz. So, the first thing she said that spoke to me was, “I don’t want to spend my life creating one perfect thing. I want to spend my life creating a lot of imperfect things.”

And, the second thing she said that rang true was, “If you’re waiting til you’re good at it, whatever it is, to begin, then you’ll be waiting your entire f’ing life.” Sound familiar to anyone else besides me? Needless to say, it was that one last motivating thing I needed to hear to finally sit down and write my first blog post.

Amen Liz! So… hello world and welcome to my blog.

May the passion I share through my stories inspire you to find peace within your own lives.

Until next time…
